Sarah Rohwedder has done almost everything at the Turtle, but because part of her job is to order and cut our gourmet cheeses, she's most often referred to as Sara Cheesecutter. This also helped us keep her seperate from the other Saras that have worked here.
Currently Sarah orders all of our supplies from our various suppliers, and orders all of our cheese and meat. She then cuts and prepares them, eventually putting on an amazing display in our cheese case. Sarah has acquired, through talking to our suppliers, reading and tasting cheese, a huge amount of information on gourmet cheeses.
Informally, Sarah is our horiscope expert. She doesn't have just one horiscope for you, she has three or four for every day (plus long range ones). Sarah's also not content with working 40 hours at Turtle Bread, she has two or three other jobs.
One of which plays on her strength of 15 years as a cross country skier: she is the assistant Cross
Country ski couch for Southwest High School. So during Ski season, you will always see
her rushing out at three o'clock to start her training or to supervise the meet. Sarah
also skis and competes herself; the adjacent photograph is her at the half way mark at the
2002 Birkebeiner.
The Birkebeiner is America's largest cross country ski marathon. While the event takes place in humble Wisconson, it attracts athletes and fun-seekers from all over the world. We also have a picture of Sarah crossing the finish line, but believe me she looks better in this photograph. If you'd like more information on the Birkebeiner, visit their website.
